Can you go camping with a dog?
Yes, you can go camping with your dog! Many campsites and caravan parks welcome well-behaved dogs, and may have extra facilities such as enclosed fields for running around, dog wash showers and poo bins. You'll be expected to keep your dog on the lead around the site, and not disturb other campers. We recommend you check with each campsite about site restrictions for dogs beforehand. Wild or free camping without the landowner's permission is not allowed in Wales.
A lot of campsites are on farmland so please be aware of livestock and be sure to follow the Dog Walking Code.
Before you go camping for the first time, make sure your pet is used to sleeping in a tent or caravan. Bring their favourite blankets, towels, bowls and treats, and sealable tubs for their food.
Whichever site you choose to stay at, you'll find plenty to do nearby. Check out the local dog-friendly pubs, dog-friendly beaches and dog-friendly attractions in Wales.
