About Blaenfforest Granary
Remember the typical farmyard of your childhood and you have Blaenfforest. Limewashed stone and slate, these buildings have stood the test of time.
It is said that Blaenfforest was once a hunting lodge and part of the Welsh Estate lands owned by the Earls of Cawdor. Recently, we found 'Blaen y Fforest' (as it was then called) on a rent roll dated 1635, so the original house goes back beyond that date. Investigations are still ongoing!
Only two and a half miles from Newcastle Emlyn but worlds away in peace and tranquillity, perched on a small plateau above the valley, the old grain store has now been converted into a quality, self catering cottage ready for you to unwind and relax. Guests can also enjoy the Granary's own deluxe, private Spa hot tub housed inside its own summerhouse - so perfect to use no matter what time of year.
Blaenfforest is set in ten acres of idyllic countryside, rich with wildlife, in which you are free to roam. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our Woodland Walk meandering through our ancient valley, which is spectacular with bluebells in early summer. Dogs are most welcome to go off lead in the woods.
Please do note that we are located down a half mile farm track, well-maintained, but it is not a tarmac lane. We drive up and down in a small Toyota Yaris and have no problems at all, but it’s probably not suitable for cars with low front spoilers or very low profile tyres.
