About Thousand Island Expeditions
Embark on a journey to RSPB Ramsey Island by ferry and immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of this magical island, teeming with seals, seabirds, and a diverse array of flora and fauna that define the stunning Pembrokeshire Islands.
The Ramsey Island Adventure is a favourite among our visitors. Departing from St. Justinians, you'll cross the dynamic currents of Ramsey Sound. As we cruise beneath majestic cliffs, you'll witness an array of nesting seabirds and seal colonies. Keep an eye out, you might even spot our resident porpoise.
For those seeking marine wildlife, our Whale and Dolphin trips venture into the Celtic Deep in search of these magnificent creatures. We also circle Grassholm Island, home to the northern hemisphere's third-largest gannet colony. Porpoises, common dolphins, and Risso's dolphins are frequent visitors, while minke, pilot, sei, and fin whales, or even orcas, make occasional appearances.
In the evenings, we offer a serene boat ride around Ramsey Island to admire its seabirds, seals, and breathtaking scenery. As dusk falls, watch as hundreds of Manx shearwaters return to the island from their offshore journeys.
Fishing enthusiasts, both families and individuals, can join our 1.5-hour or 3-hour fishing trips, perfect for catching your own supper. Our skipper and crew are happy to provide guidance if needed.
Additionally, a limited number of guided walks on Ramsey Island, led by an RSPB member, can be booked for a more in-depth exploration of this incredible destination.
