Aberavon seafront is one of Wales’ longest beaches and has a contemporary promenade that overlooks Swansea Bay.
Aberavon Beach at Sandfields in Neath Port Talbot is a 3-mile sandy beach and the northern end of the beach is used by sand yachting enthusiasts and kitesurfers. This is also a popular area for fishing.
The beach is ideal for families and (safe) ideal for swimming and kayaking . There is also a skate park, aqua splash playground, children's play areas and grassed areas alongside and is easily accessible for disabled people. The beach is also popular with surfers and kite surfers and each year a very successful and hugely popular beach festival takes centre stage at the seafront.
Aberavon Seafront is a popular choice for a great family day out. The Celtic Trail, part of the National Cycle Route, follows the promenade and gives fantastic views. Port Talbot is the nearest large town although there are several cafes, restaurants and pubs along the promenade.
