Lots of great foodie events take place throughout the year, showcasing a variety of produce, including some of Wales' most famous food and drink, such as Welsh lamb, cheese and spirits.

Wales Whisky Fest

01 - 03 November 2024

The first Wales Whisky Fest takes place in Llandudno with three days of events and free tours and tastings at Penderyn Distillery in Llandudno, and Aber Falls Distillery in Conwy, for any event ticket holders all weekend.

Royal Welsh Winter Fair

25 - 26 November 2024

The Royal Welsh Winter Fair is one of the finest prime stock shows in Europe, with two days of competitions, as well as a fantastic opportunity to do some Christmas shopping. The food hall features an excellent range of food and drink from very best Welsh producers. Some of the stalls include Aber Falls, Caws Teifi Cheese, Welsh Lady Preserves, Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Company, Ridiculously Rich by Alana and Celtic Spirit Company.

Portmeirion Food and Craft Fair

06, 07 and 08 December 2024

Portmeirion Food and Craft Fair has a stunning setting: the grounds of a colourful Italianate village in Eryri (Snowdonia). 120 stalls and chalets celebrate Welsh products and businesses while live music, cookery demonstrations, workshops and a magical Christmas Grotto provide add-on entertainment.

Real Ale Trail

A one-day festival that lets you drink while someone else drives? Perfect. Hosted on different days throughout the year in Vale of Glamorgan, Eryri (Snowdonia), Conwy and other places besides, the Real Ale Trail connects local pubs via a dedicated pick-up-and-drop-off bus for those holding a Real Ale Pass. Each featured pub puts on a minimum of three fantastic ales, plus home-cooked food and entertainment.

Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon Food Festival

Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon Food Festival takes over the historic North Wales town, from the marina to the castle, filling the streets with wonderful food stalls and activities. There's live music, plenty of food and craft stalls, children's activities, street food to treat yourselves to and bars to explore.

Gower Cheese and Cider Weekend

Head to the Gower Heritage Centre in Parkmill, Gower, for the Gower Cheese and Cider Weekend. Enjoy a weekend of trying out a variety of Welsh ciders and cheese, including some made on site. There's also live music in the courtyards on both days.

Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival

Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival usually takes over the Bank Holiday.  As always, there’s guaranteed to be something to suit all diets, ages and interests at this foodie favourite – moreish meats, vegan varieties, curries, cheeses, chutneys; scrumptious ciders, great gins, sweet treats and so much more. Alongside the regular favourites that festival goers love to see, we’re being promised plenty of new and exciting exhibitor additions!

As well as the main festival site, the Old Hall Gardens will be buzzing with lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy; willow weaving, pétanque, birds of prey and in a festival first, the Vale Food Trail will be celebrating sustainability with a fun programme of events. The much-loved food demos are also set to return, providing extra entertainment at the Duke of Wellington on High Street. Find out more about Cowbridge.

Cardiff Food and Drink Festival takes place in the summer and brings three days of gourmet delights to Cardiff Bay. It features over 100 food and drink producers, with live music and masses of demos and workshops. This outdoor food festival in Cardiff draws huge crowds in good weather. To people-watch in style, take a seat in the Champagne Bar for a cool glass of bubbly.

Lampeter Food Festival

Held on the sweeping lawns of the Lampeter campus of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David on a Saturday in late July, Lampeter’s food festival has plenty to keep families entertained. There are tempting stalls loaded with organic vegetables, artisan cheese, delicious little cupcakes and old-fashioned preserves, plus live music from local bands.

Narberth Cheese Festival

Narberth Cheese Festival takes place in the Queens Hall Narberth, with a selection of local Welsh cheese, plus ciders, spirits, beer and wine to purchase. There's cheesecakes, pickles, preserves, olives plus hot and cold food too, plus a range of gifts and pottery.

Cardigan River and Food Festival

Cardigan River and Food Festival has been running since the late 1990s. Sample the best in locally sourced food from independent Welsh producers while watching a boatload of water-based activities on the River Teifi. There’s more to Cardigan’s food scene than seafood. Our inland shores also get in on the action at the festival. Set beside the broad River Teifi, it’s a great place to discover small, independent Welsh food producers including award-winning cheesemakers and rare breed livestock farmers. River events such as coracle races and RNLI demos make this festival unique. There's plenty to do in Cardigan, so make a mini break in this beautiful part of West Wales.

The Little Cheese Festival, Caerphilly

The Little Cheese Festival is free weekend-long festival that takes place in Caerphilly town centre. It features with numerous food and drink stalls and music areas, music workshops, craft sessions and funfair rides.

Newtown Food Festival

06 and 07 September 2025

Newtown's food festival comes alive each September. The festival welcomes Welsh food and drink with music by local artists, all concentrated around the beautiful market town of Newtown. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Mid Wales countryside, this free event is great value. Details of  the event is posted on their Facebook page @NewtownFoodFest.

Conwy Honey Fair

13 September 2025

The Conwy Honey Fair is said to be one of Britain’s oldest food festivals, dating back over 700 years. The Royal Charter of Edward I dictates that it must happen on the same date every year – 13 September – unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case, it moves to the Monday after. At the fair, you can expect to see honey, honey-related products, beekeeping stalls, preserves, sweet treats and other produce and crafts.

Abergavenny Food Festival

20 - 21 September 2025

Abergavenny Food Festival takes place in the heart of ultra-foodie Monmouthshire. This weekend event is one of the most high-profile food festivals in the Welsh calendar. As well as international celebrity masterclasses from top chefs, demos and talks, there’s plenty of lighthearted entertainment and imaginative activities including guided foraging walks. There's lots else to do in and around Abergavenny, making for a great weekend.

The Mold Food and Drink Festival is another charming event, which showcases a great variety of produce from the town and surrounding areas. There's plenty to keep everyone occupied at this North Wales food festival, with interactive areas, a cookery school and chef demonstrations.

Amgueddfa Food Festival, St Fagans

The Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival returns in-person to St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff. The festival has over 80 food, drink and craft stalls, cookery demos, family friendly foodie activities and music.

There are plenty of local producers to chat to at Narberth's lively weekend festival. Leading Welsh foodies Angela Gray and Elizabeth Luard, who are patrons of Narberth Food Festival always take part and other chefs demonstrate recipes and techniques, too. Live bands will entertain you when you sit down to munch on your purchases.

Neath Food and Drink Festival

Neath Food and Drink Festival welcomes around 60 exhibitors and award winning suppliers to Neath's famous Indoor Victorian Market. The festival is a true celebration of local produce and the historic market town. Street food will be available in Angel Square and Neath Square while entertainment fills the surrounding area.

Denbigh Plum Feast

TBC October 2025

The Denbigh Plum Feast takes place in October. The fruit was granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status in 2019, under the European Union Protected Food Name (EUPFN) Scheme. It’s been a long road to achieving PDO status for the Vale of Clwyd Denbigh Plum – a technical process which takes several years to reach fruition.

Newport Food and Drink Festival

Newport Food and Drink Festival is a buzzing festival that only began in 2011, but has already attracted top flight Welsh chefs including Bryn Williams of Odette’s in Primrose Hill, London, and James Sommerin. The programme includes demonstrations from local chefs and street entertainment for all the family. 

Llangollen Food Festival

Llangollen is no stranger to big events (it hosts the International Music Eisteddfod every year), so it’s no surprise that the town pulls out all the stops for the annual Llangollen Food Festival. Alongside delicious local produce and cookery demonstrations, there's a range of unusual events like speed truffle-making and pumpkin carving competitions.

Cambrian Mountains Food, Drink and Craft Festival features local producers with their award-winning products plus some new goodies on offer. There's also live demonstrations from Nerys Howell, TV chef and author and entertainment is provided by the duelling guitars of local boy Toby Hay and recent Elan Valley Artist in Residence Gareth Bonello.
