TimeScape Rhayader is a new visitor attraction that is sharing the stories of Rhayader and its surrounding area using interactive displays and immersive experiences.
This new visitor attraction, located in The Outdoor Capital of Wales, weaves the natural world, mythology, science, history and the creative arts together. Two fully accessible exhibition floors, space for children’s activities, an outdoor area and nature garden provide something for everyone, whether locals or curious day trippers.
Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to follow a Dragon activity trail through the exhibits to find the Dragon Queen’s secret den. Belrenin the Dragon Queen is a much beloved 20ft copper dragon sculpture which has now found a permanent home in TimeScape Rhayader.
TimeScape Rhayader charts Mid Wales' contribution to the wider world via its unique landscapes and culture. Every visitor will be able to find a personal connection within its displays, which cover different perspectives on the area’s rich social and political history as well as the natural sciences of geology, astronomy and ecology. There will be displays of local artists’ work as well as a full programme of events, workshops, talks and temporary exhibitions.
