About Y Beudy @ Rhyd Gethin
Y Beudy (‘the cowshed’) is a spacious yet cosy barn conversion with its own private garden. Located in the Berwyn mountains, just outside Eryri (Snowdonia), it’s the perfect place ‘off the beaten track’ to enjoy a relaxing retreat or a North Wales adventure, or a combination of the two! Enjoy simply being surrounded by nature in the garden or explore walks & cycle trails from the doorstep.
Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen, dining table and sitting area with floor to ceiling windows and patio doors out into the private garden. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the usual appliances, including a dishwasher and washer-dryer.
Upstairs there’s a separate lounge with comfy sofas and smart TV, DVD player and sound bar. We also have a selection of books, DVDs and family board games available for you to enjoy during your stay.
The large master bedroom has a super-king bed and ensuite shower room. The second bedroom is set up as a twin. The family bathroom has a bath with shower.
Outside there’s a private and secluded south-facing garden on the banks of the Afon Ceidiog. There’s also a patio area for outdoor dining and a barbecue available to use. We can offer storage for bikes, kayaks or paddleboards, as well as a hose pipe for washing down kit after a day in the mountains or out on the water. There is also space to hang kit to dry.
There are a wide range of water sports nearby in Bala (20 mins drive), including wild swimming and paddle boarding on Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), and kayaking and rafting on the Afon Tryweryn at the National Whitewater Centre.
Other places in Eryri (Snowdonia) are also just a short drive away, including Betws-y-Coed, Llanberis, and the various Zipworld attractions.
The stunning beaches and popular seaside resorts on the west coast, such as Barmouth and Harlech, are just over an hour away - perfect for day trips with amazing scenery along the way.
Llandrillo village, 3 miles down the valley, has two restaurants and a well-stocked village shop and post office (village pub is currently closed). Bala and Corwen, both approx. 20 mins drive, offer a selection of shops, cafes and pubs.
