About Llyndy Bothy, National Trust
Try camping in a 'stone tent' in this rustic bothy in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia). This very simple, lovingly restored building offers basic, rustic accommodation ideal for walkers needing an over-night stop. Located in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), Llyndy bothy, a National Trust Holidays property, is only a 15 minute walk from the Watkin path – considered to be the toughest route to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
The bothy consists of a single downstairs room with a sink and cold-water tap (not drinking water) and two double bed sleeping platforms. Two more single-sleeping platforms are located in the loft area, accessed via a ladder. There is a toilet in a neighbouring outbuilding but there are no other facilities. Guests will need to bring their own airbeds, sleeping mats and bedding and cooking facilities.
Surrounded by meadow land, and with views over nearby Llyn Dinas, Llyndy Bothy offers an idyllic retreat from modern life. There are lovely walks in the area – with the pretty village of Beddgelert only a 4 mile walk away and Sygun copper mine en route. If you are after some more adrenaline-fuelled adventure you can find that nearby too, with Zip World adventures, Bounce Below, Surf Snowdonia or Zip World Fforest Adventures to name a few.
Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa: Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa is an initiative organised by Eryri National Park to protect the mountain’s sustainable future. This cottage, and all National Trust holiday cottages in the national park have been awarded silver status in this plastic-free business programme, and we are making changes to work towards gold status.
