About Fron Dirion, National Trust
Located near Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Fron Dirion accommodates up to four guests and is a secluded 18th-century cottage located on a working hill farm. The National Trust Holidays property boasts an inglenook fireplace, stone floors an enclosed garden and superb views up the valley from the kitchen window. Once used as a base for fishing trips in the 50s and 60s, and the drawings of trout from this time are preserved on the cottage wall.
For the adventurous Eryri is perfect for hiking and climbing, ascend Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Challenge yourself with various climbing routes and scrambles on mountains like Tryfan. Try kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding, discover a variety of walking trails, from leisurely strolls through villages like Betws-y-Coed to challenging hikes through ancient woodlands. Enjoy unique indoor activities like the Zip World Betws-y-Coed and the Bounce Below experience in Llechwedd slate caverns.
Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa: Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa is an initiative organised by Eryri National Park to protect the mountain’s sustainable future. This cottage, and all National Trust holiday cottages in the national park have been awarded silver status in this plastic-free business programme, and we are making changes to work towards gold status.
