About Clyne Farm Centre Cottages
Clyne Farm Centre is a converted dairy farm overlooking the broad sweep of Swansea Bay. With 9 self-catering cottages, ranging from cosy two bedroom barns to interconnecting properties sleeping 16, you will be spoilt for choice.
There are 7 rustic cottages on the main farm site all located around a central courtyard; Byron’s Barn, The Dairy, Stables Cottage, Hayloft, The Old Schoolroom, Chapel Barn and Horseshoe Cottage. The cottages enjoy a mixture of coastal and woodland views. For those wanting peace and quiet you will feel like you are completely away from it all, yet you are only a few minutes’ drive from the City of Swansea, Mumbles Village and the beautiful Gower Peninsula; Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There are a further two more cottages a short drive away; The Keeper’s Cottage and Barn Owl Lodge. Located deep within Clyne Valley Country Park these cottages sleep 8 each, but can also interconnect to sleep 16 people. They offer quiet secluded isolation yet are only a couple of miles away from civilisation and the beaches of Gower.
The Clyne Estate has a rich history and in the 1800s many dignitaries were welcomed to enjoy hunting deer in the woods, often taking tea on the lawn of The Keeper's Cottage. It is said that these dignitaries included former British Prime Ministers Stanley Baldwin & Sir Winston Churchill, and also royalty including Prince Edward who later became King Edward VII, & his grandson Prince Edward who later briefly became King Edward the VIII.
In total 51 guests can be accommodated so the location is perfect not just for romantic weekend breaks for two, but also for larger family or group gatherings! In a nearby suburb of Swansea is the Dylan Thomas Birthplace, run by the same owners, offering unique insights into the life of the famous poet.
