About Braich Melyn, National Trust
Located at Dinas Mawddwy, Dolgellau, Gwynedd and brimming with character, Braich Melyn is a National Trust holiday cottage that sleeps four and provides a perfect country cottage stay. It has many traditional features including an inglenook fireplace giving the cottage a real sense of historic charm. The cottage dates from the 17th-century and its attached barns are still intact, as is the hill farm it’s based on. You will be encompassed by green farmland, grazing livestock and unrivalled views across the valley.
For the adventurous Eryri is perfect for hiking and climbing, ascend Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Challenge yourself with various climbing routes and scrambles on mountains like Tryfan. Try kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding, discover a variety of walking trails, from leisurely strolls through villages like Betws-y-Coed to challenging hikes through ancient woodlands. Enjoy unique indoor activities like the Zip World Betws-y-Coed and the Bounce Below experience in Llechwedd slate caverns.

This cottage, and all National Trust holiday cottages in the national park have been awarded silver status in this plastic-free business programme, and we are making changes to work towards gold status.
