Barnfield Cottage is a recently converted and extended Welsh stone barn, completed in 2017. The massive oak framing supporting the roof is on show in all the upstairs rooms; downstairs is packed with character too. The cottage has a log burning stove, underfloor central heating upstairs and down, a modern heat recovery and fresh air system and is very highly insulated, with high quality double glazing in the oak frames.
The cottage is right on the edge of the National Park and has views of Pen-y-fan from the living room windows, and stunning south westerley views from the terrace.
As a base for exploring the countryside by foot or bicycle the cottage is hard to beat. Indeed there are many possible walks that can begin right outside the front door.
Brecon itself is no more than 10-15 minutes by car and there are local shops in Sennybridge, just a couple of miles away. Although the setting is rural, the cottage is accessible, just over a mile from the main road.
