The Forge is a holiday destination with sustainability and reconnection at its core. With glorious views of the surrounding peaks, covered kitchens and large private balconies, these five exclusive bell tents offer up a perfect mix of little home luxuries whilst truly getting away from it all. And with a bushcraft company on-site, you have every opportunity to completely immerse yourself within these beautiful natural surroundings.
On this smallholding in North Wales, you are encouraged to do as much or as little as you please. Help collect freshly laid eggs, learn how to master the perfect chutney, build a den - or simply sit around your very own campfire and enjoy some perfect downtime.
On site there are four luxury tent pitches with each being named after the striking Welsh peaks that surround them. The largest pitch (Berwyn) sleeps up to eight people in two bell tents - with a large kitchen, wood burning stoves in each tent and a communal fire pit, it’s the perfect spot for a group or two families.
The other three pitches (Arenig, Idris and Liberty) sleep up to four people in each. The beautiful bell tents are all carpeted and wonderfully cosy, with blankets, cushions and luxuriously thick duvets. And outside, each pitch has its own covered kitchen, wooden deck, private composting toilet and campfire area - perfect for marshmallow toasting.
The kitchen areas for each pitch are utterly charming. Housed in a wooden cabin, there’s all you need for some simple camp cooking - with a two-ring stove, utensils and plenty of mugs and plates. And happily there’s no lugging water from a communal tap, as each kitchen comes with running water and a sink.
There’s also a games cabin with a pool table and comfy sofas. And communal hot showers are just a short walk across the field.
The location is breathtaking and there are plenty of local wonderful walks to choose from, just choose a peak to head up. The Forge even has its own Iron Age hill fort where you are welcome to enjoy the communal fire circle. If you really want to experience some serious back to nature activities then, rather handily, And if you want to head off-site to explore this beautiful part of the world further then you’re just twenty minutes from both Snowdonia National Park to the west, and the pretty town of Llangollen - with its independent shops, cafes and awe-inspiring Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - to the east.
