Mercure Newport

The historic Chartist Tower is home to Mercure Newport; the tallest building in the city and built in 1966, it has been expertly renovated to create an exciting new vibrant hotel for the city.

The hotel has 135 flexible bedrooms to suit all travellers, all with striking views across the city. We also have three purpose-built meeting rooms with flexible capacities on a dedicated meeting floor, paired with a spacious breakout area and coffee station.

At the heart of our hotel, you’ll find our contemporary restaurant Bar and Kitchen @ NP20 which is open to both residents and non-residents. Our restaurant is home to a fabulous outdoor terrace area – ideal for cocktails with friends, pre-dinner drinks and casual dining.

Located on Newport High Street, less than a minute away by foot to Friars Walk shopping centre and leisure complex. Just a 7-minute walk from Newport Train Station and less than 5 minute walk from Newport Central Bus Station.
