Nestled between the cliffs on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and the coast at Porthmadog we offer a range of accommodation from luxury quilted Lotus tents with private bathrooms, Cosy Wooden Western Wagons set in a nature area with stunning views and even a romantic converted horsebox. Best of all breakfast is included with all stays so just sleep, eat and explore! It is just 10 minutes to the beach with Harlech/Criccieth Castles and Portmeirion nearby and there is also a bus service/Sherpa from the site direct to Snowdon via Croeso/Cnicht/Beddgelert. Tremadog is just a short 15 minute walk away with two pubs, a restaurant, a shop and a local chippie too!
Glamping Tents
Our glamping tents are great for those that want somewhere unique to stay that is off grid/eco with romantic fairy lights, log burner, breakfast included and Wi-Fi if you want to watch a movie snuggled up.
The luxury lotus tents are made from material that is nearly 3 times as thick as other bell/tipi type tents with thick coir matting and combined with the quilting/log burner is ideal for a winter escape as we are open most of the year too.
There are plenty of extras for you including all your duvets/bedding, pillows, throws, chairs and table/storage with camping chairs to relax outside your tent with a drink/take in the views after a hard day adventuring. Beds can be set up as a twin or a king-size double and welcome logs are provided for you to get you going on arrival.
Oh, and you also have two unique bedside pets in your accommodation for personal belongings too! Each glamping tent has its own private facilities during your stay. There is a nearby toasty shower/wet room, toilets/disabled access with shaver points/hairdryers too over the bridge/woodland path. We have 5 of these tents in total.
Western Wagons
Hand built by us your Western Wagon comes with everything you need for a short break away.
Each one has been positioned to give space and unparalleled stunning views of the mountain ranges/cliffs in the local area with outside undercover porch style seating built in so you can take in the views whilst being in the open/great outdoors!
Inside you will find a raised double bed with views from a rear window, clothing storage boxes, hanging space, storage space for luggage and even a pull out dining table included. In the internal space there are two comfy chairs to take in the views, coffee table, space heater/fire, rustic coat hanger, boot storage and further 'nick/nack' storage/shelving, mirror and access to Wi-Fi.
We have tried to make the wagons as energy efficient as possible using thermal insulation and to use minimal energy with just USB charging/lighting available to be as 'off-grid' as possible though the space heater can be utilised as required. If you bring a cool box then we have freezers on site so can drop off/collect freezer packs daily if required and again is in keeping with our 'eco' ethos.
The site has an open-sided undercover barn area with clothes lines/drying area, picnic tables and a kitchenette/sink area with a kettle and hairdryer too. Shared toilets/showers are approx. 60-120m away depending on which wagon you are in!
There are eight of these and the wagons sit around a 'pond/scrape’ in a nature area that acts as a sump for water to collect to keep the area drained but also then acts as a wildlife ‘reserve’ and regularly teeming with dragonflies/insects and benefits the SSSI for Bats (Special Site of Scientific Interest) just 300m away with additional food in the evenings - watch for them swooping around in the early evening! It does though dry out from time to time during dry spells but the grasses/hedgerows, flowers and fauna provide great cover for a myriad of wildlife.
Converted Horsebox
Our newly converted horsebox on our glamp site has a comfy sofa to take in the views in front of a toasty living flame fire/space heater, breakfast bar and stools and plenty of storage/drawers/hangars for clothes etc. Up the stairs there is your king size bed with distant views of the mountain ranges and the cliffs nearby. There is a mini fridge and kettle also in the accommodation, spare electric sockets/1 with USB charge points, internal Wi-Fi and a small burner on the patio along with chairs to sip a hot drink or tipple in the evening or take in the views during the day! The shower/toilet is approx. 10 seconds away and the toilet/washbasin is currently for sole use of the horsebox/non-shared with a private key.
The horsebox was made with all manner of bits we could find and is pretty much refurbished with everything being re-used/repurposed/pre-loved from curtains/book cases/rope/metal work/planks etc. to make for a quirky stay for those looking for something unusual and romantic with a hand made headboard carved with quilted heart cut outs.
Y Beudy/Cowshed Restaurant/Reception
Breakfast is at the Cowshed and we provide a portal so that food can be booked the night before and can either opt for a takeaway breakfast from 7:30am, if off early exploring for the day, or sit in from 8:15am. We also offer a packed lunch service and coffee/tea/cakes etc. in the afternoons with sit in meals on most* Saturday evenings too (*subject to availability/season)
