Deaf presenter and content creator Jazzy Whipps enjoys a weekend exploring Cardiff with her friend Caitlin.

Day One: Cardiff walking tour

Day one, and a well wrapped up Jazzy and Caitlin spent several hours thoroughly exploring Cardiff. Their tour began at Cardiff Castle, exploring the romantic castle and grounds. After enjoying a lunch of traditional Welsh cawl, they headed to Cardiff Bay with tour guide Sarah, for the rest of their city adventure. Sarah’s Wales offers a variety of walking tours which can be signed using BSL (level 3). This guided tour included a water taxi ride along the River Taff to Cardiff Bay, exploring the city centre, and learning about the history and heritage of our capital city.

After dark, they returned to a beautifully lit up Cardiff Castle to visit Winter Wonderland and the sparkly joy of the Christmas at Bute Park light trail, which got them both into a really Christmassy mood!

Jazzy and Caitlin stayed in the boutique Hotel Indigo, right in the city centre. Search for other places to stay in Cardiff.

Day Two: Backstage tour at BBC Cymru Wales studios

For day two's activities, Jazzy and Caitlin headed out for a pre-booked BSL interpreted tour of the BBC Cymru Wales studios. During the tour, they discovered some fascinating TV filming facts and secrets. Having the BSL interpreter with them meant Jazzy could enjoy the full experience along with everyone else. For more information on BSL interpreted and accessible tours at BBC Cymru Wales, visit the BBC Tours website.

Jazzy and Caitlin spent their final afternoon hitting the city's huge shopping centres for some final Christmas gift buying before returning home.
